Muscle Shoals, AL – The Listerhill Foundation, best known for its Kicks for Kids program, is proud to announce the launch of a new School Grant Program designed to further support students and educators in our service area.
Through this initiative, the Foundation has awarded $75,000 in grants to six local schools to enhance their learning environments and create new opportunities for students.
“While our Kicks for Kids program remains our primary philanthropy - donating more than 10,000 pairs of brand-name athletic shoes and 25,000 pairs of socks since its inception - we felt the School Grants Program was another meaningful way to impact schools in our service area,” said Haley Brink, Director of Philanthropy at Listerhill Credit Union.
The first recipients of the program include:
- Cherokee Elementary – $5,000 for care closet
- Hazlewood Elementary – $15,000 for library enhancements
- Leighton Elementary – $15,000 for classroom furniture
- L.E. Willson Elementary – $15,000 for a new sound system
- R.E. Thompson Intermediate School – $10,000 for STEM classroom supplies
- Wilson Elementary – $15,000 for the “Cultivating Connections” outdoor classroom
“These grants allow us to partner directly with schools to fund projects that enrich classrooms, support teachers, and inspire students," said Haley Brink, Director of Philanthropy at Listerhill Credit Union.
The School Grant Program reflects the Foundation’s ongoing mission to invest in education and empower schools throughout the region with the resources they need to thrive.
